Carlos M. Cano, BS, CAP, ICADC
Clinical Director

Carlos has been involved in the addiction and recovery field since 1990. He received a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Maryland, studied Medical Technology at the University of Tennessee, worked in a Toxicology Laboratory, and completed his Clinical Addictions Studies at the University of Arkansas. He began his career at The Freedom House in Russellville, AR and has worked at various treatment centers, with diverse client populations, and is qualified in all modalities of treatment. Carlos is a Certified Addiction Professional and an Internationally Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. His ongoing studies are exploring the Disease Model and correlating the neuro-chemical basis for addiction. Carlos brings a wealth of life experience, cultural diversity, and formal education to the therapeutic environment. He is also able to offer individual sessions in Spanish for bilingual clients.

 

Gloria Ahlman CAC
Primary Therapist

Gloria Ahlman has always had a heart for the recovering community and a unique style of working with clients in both individual and a group setting. She brings to Transformations Treatment Center 34 years of personal recovery and 30 years of experience in the field of Substance Abuse. She has a C.A.C. and has completed the Advanced Relapse Prevention School with Terrance Gorski in November 2006. She has been awarded Dedicated and Loyal Employee of Intervention Program in 2005. For 12 years Gloria has been the Supervisor of Drug Intervention Substance Abuse Program at Palm Beach County Stockade and has also been associated Court Liaison for Civil Drug Court for 15 years.

 

Paul Henry
Therapist

Paul loves to work out, play music record music and future is knowledge in and out of the classroom. He feels its every person’s responsibility to give to others wherever possible. TTC is an outlet for him to help others at a critical time in their lives. Paul went to Palm beach Atlantic University where he received a BS degree and is currently working on a master’s degree in Mental Health, Marragie and Family. Paul wants to continue to pursue and graduate with master degree and enroll for his doctorate. He is very client led, works at the client’s pace and meets the clients were they are at. He has been in the field eight years in every possible setting.

 

Philip Dvorak
Therapist

Philip received his Bachelor of Science and Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University. He is a licensed minister with the Christian and Missionary Alliance. For the past five years Philip has been part of the pastoral leadership that envisioned and planted a new Christian church in northern Palm Beach County. He comes with an array of experience in the addiction/recovery field. His years of experience in both counseling and as a minister make him an integral part of the Transformations team. He is married with two children and currently resides in West Palm Beach, FL.

 

Faye Ann Karasick
Therapist

Faye Ann came to the U.S. from Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada in 2003 where she had worked as an addictions counselor for many years in both non-profit organizations and private practice. Prior to finding her niche in the chemical dependency field, she worked in the mental health field, where she managed a program for people with mental health issues after she had worked at the grass roots level for a number of years. Once Faye Ann returned to the field of addictions, she worked in all levels of treatment as well as developed, marketed, ran and facilitated an outpatient day treatment program for women. She has also had experience working with adolescents in locked and unlocked dual diagnosis treatment facilities. Faye Ann holds a Bachelor of the Arts degree in Psychology/Sociology and was a certified gambling counselor in Canada. She lived in Nevada for a year prior to coming to Florida where she was certified by the State of Nevada as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC). Faye Ann is passionate about her work in addictions treatment and brings with her a wealth of knowledge, experience and creativity.

 

John Hawkins
Therapist

Bachelor of Science from Amridge University. Master's in Counseling Psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University (pending May 2010). Experience with Substance Abuse, Severe and Chronic Mental Illness, and Family and Relationship Counseling, as well as Spiritual Issues. Married with two children. Currently resides in West Palm Beach, FL.

 

Matthew Brindisi
Admissions Director

Before joining the team at Transformations Treatment Center, Matthew was the Chief Executive Officer of Integrity Way Transitional Housing. He has worked with hundreds of people suffering from addictions to alcohol and drugs to help them turn their lives around and overcome their addictions. Matthew is trained in the Alpha Ministries and works with local homeless outreach programs. In addition to being an Admissions Coordinator, Matthew works heavily with the Marketing team of Transformations Treatment Center because "I feel like my purpose in life is to find the lost, sick and suffering and help them get the help they need.

 

Max Igunbor
Assistant Admissions Director

Max is the Assistant Admissions Director. Born in the UK , raised in the city of Chicago and relocated to South Florida in 2001. Max has a natural flair to attend and guide people in the right direction. With his ethical ways Max is a model employee to the rest of the Admissions staff here at Transformations.

 

Adi Olivkovitch
Admissions Coordinator

Adi is one of the Admissions Coordinator that conveys many years of customer service and PR work. Adi's personal care and approach creates a very pleasant experience for the client or loved one when inquiring about treatment. Having tremendous passion for helping others and spreading the message of recovery and unifying that along with faith makes Adi a wonderful asset to our team here at Transformations Treatment Center.

 

Melvin Hall
Admission Coordinator

Melvin is a transplant from NY-Bx. He’s been living in Florida for the last 21 years. Melvin likes reading, listening to music jazz-R&B-classic rock- and classical, playing racquetball and cooking. He‘s been in recovery for 10 yrs and is passionate about helping others.

 

Allison Koslowski
Behavioral Health Tech

Allison is excited to be a part of the Transformations team. She loves to learn and help others as they begin their journey into recovery. Allison plans to continue her education by pursuing a C.A.P. and hopes to one day work as a therapist. She loves the beach, meditating, and sports (especially college football.)

 

Stephanie Humphries
Outreach Specialist

Stephanie has been with Transformations since its opening. She helped to structure the program from the beginning. She is an Outreach Specialist and runs Life Skills groups for the clients. "I love working here because everyone honestly cares about our clients." Stephanie has been working in the field of recovery for 9yrs. She started working part time as a Tech at a women's detox center. Through hard work and dedication she became Tech Supervisor guiding a staff of 20.She has also worked as a Program Coordinator, Discharge Planner. After realizing her calling Stephanie continued her education in the addiction field. She enjoys seeing the client, who realizes their dreams can become a reality.

 

Libby Vernon
Administrator

Elizabeth has been involved in the addiction and recovery field since 2003. She received her degree in Medical Assisting from Palm Beach Community College and is currently enrolled in the part-time RN program, also at PBCC. She began her career in South Florida and has worked at various treatment centers and detoxification centers, with diverse client populations, and is qualified in all modalities of treatment. Elizabeth is a certified professional in CPR/AED, HIV, Aggression De-escalation, and Medication Management.

 

Jordan Lautieri
Administrator

Jordan Lautieri is Transformation’s Office Manager, and the first face that the clients see when they come in. She has a warm easy going manner which helps set clients at ease, and encourages them to open up. Jordan handles all of the client paperwork and clerical / management duties at the center. She is a student at Palm Beach Community College pursuing a Degree in Radiology. Jordan has personal experience with close family members’ addiction, which enables her to be empathetic with clients. Transformation clients enjoy talking with her and often seek her out through the day to engage her in conversation.

 

Megan Anthony
Program Coordinator

Megan is Transformations Program Coordinator. She has a bachelor’s degree in Intercultural Communication, a minor in Sociology and also a Woman Studies certificate from Florida Atlantic University. Megan is an essential part of the treatment team coordinating services for the clients and developing their continuing care plans. She shares administrative duties with the office manager and Administrator of Transformations. Outside of professional interest, she travels widely and dances.

 

Geoff Spillias
BA Psychology, BA Interpersonal Communications
Behavioral Health Tech Supervisor

Geoff loves spending time with his daughter. He also likes to watch sports; like football, hockey and basketball. Geoff came to work here at TTC in order to help those in distress. Geoff went to Lynn University for 2 years. He then finished his 2 degrees here in Florida at the University of Central Florida. He plans to continue his education in the psychology and counseling field.

 

Heidi Kasden
Lead BHT

Her passion is recovery. Heidi believes work isn’t work if you really love and believe in the center you work for. She feels like she is a part of a team that helps transform lives. She is a certified Behavioral Health Tech. and would like to continue the journey in treatment work and accredit to CAC. So she can continue to help wonderful people with their recovery process.

 

Danny Wilburn
BHT

Danny loves to help people and to watch them grow. He works at TTC because he wants to help the addict and alcoholic. He longs to help other achieve long periods of clean time.

 

Donna Brown
BHT

She loves being with clients seeing them transform. She loves the fact TTC has a Christian track. Her primary purpose is to help a suffering addict and stay clean, happy, joyous and free!

 

James Shields
BHT

James brings 20 years of experience in the recovery field here to TTC. He loves the recovery community and is committed to serving the clients at TTC.

 

Kevin Venekamp
BHT

Kevin loves working and helping others. Previously he was an executive chef specializing in opening new restaurants. That was a helpful experience for him when joining us in 2009. Kevin hopes to get his C.A.P. and become a therapist some day.

 

Sergio Witis
BHT

Sergio loves to watch people grow, seeing people coming out of their shells, and start feeling comfortable in their own skin. He also loves to listen to music, play instruments, art, prayer, and meditation. Sergio says he loves working for TTC because he gets a chance to do what he loves to do. Sergio also shares his experience strength and hope with others. He hopes to learn more in social work.

 

Terrie Hornick
BHT

Terrie loves to ride her Harley Davidson, but most of all she likes to help the newcomer in recovery. She came to work here at TTC because we are like a family to her, very understanding and open to all their employees.
