Tallahassee is not only the county seat of Leon County, but the city is also the capital of Florida. Needless to say, this makes the city very important and the large population of 357,259 that the metropolitan statistical area hosts is the proof of the cities popularity. Of course with all this development and metro city feel, also comes a high level of crime. The rate of forcible rape in the city is 2.70 times the national average; burglary is 1.6 times the national average while violent crimes are 1.50 times the national average. These statistics shook the Tallahassee authorities, who decided to move into action by launching 490 full-time laws enforcement employees in the year 2006. Apart from looking towards controlling the drug traffic operations in the city, these Tallahassee enforcers were also hoping to seek treatment for as many addicts as possible. Since the year 2006 saw 18 deaths where cocaine was found in the body, the drug was a huge cause for concern. It had killed the maximum number of people that year when compared with other drugs such as hydrocodone, Alprazolam, Heroin and all other illicit drugs.
