"Those who we have lost we remember through our recovery."

Steven H. Steiner 1981-2001

Steven passed away at the age of 19 to a drug overdose.

My name is Matt Brindisi and I am one of the founders of Transformations Treatment Center. I am also Steve’s brother. Steve passed at the age of 19 due to a drug overdose. It was the first time he had ever tried Oxycontin. The drug combined with being physically ill caused him to fall asleep and not wake up due to breathing complications while sleeping.

Steve was an amazing young man who had the whole world ahead of him. Steve had a bright future and was already an accomplished electrician at the age of 19. A couple of my greatest memories are playing knee football in the front yard of our NJ home or watching my little brother pitch a no hitter and win the championship game.

Stevie, you will be missed by dad, mom, Joey and myself. You are loved by all of us. I want you to know that you did not die in vain. Dad has started an organization to help in the war on drugs and I have chosen to help form TTC, which is teaching and educating people on how to live drug and alcohol free. You are an inspiration to all of us at Transformations and those we help. God bless you and I love you.

-Your brother

Tracy Baughman 1971-2002

Tracy was the passenger in a car and he and the driver were both under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

My name is Stephanie Humphries and I have been with Transformations Treatment since it’s opening. Tracy was my little brother.  Tracy had been using drugs on and off since he was a teen. He had recently quit using drugs not long before the accident happened and it appeared his life was improving, However ,Tracy had quit on his own and did not get the professional help that might have made the difference and he relapsed.

Tracy spent 6 weeks in a coma after the accident and never regained any normalcy before he passed from complications from the accident. His friend, the driver of the vehicle and also an addict, was convicted of vehicular homicide. Two young lives wasted due to this disease. And countless others affected.

Tracy was amazingly funny and bright. He would give anyone the shirt off of his back. He had an outgoing personality that could not be denied. He loved music and the outdoors and I watched him grow into a man with pride, but was unable to protect him from his addiction.

Tracy had a little girl that was born after he passed. Though she never met her father, we share our memories with her. Her name is Tracy. He is also missed by his mother Raye, stepdad Steve, father Tom, Uncle Brad, girlfriend Vicky, step sons Rob and Bill and countless other friends and loved ones.

In honor of Tracy I keep my own recovery and my passion to help others a priority. Fly Free Tracy. We love you.
