New York is one of the most exciting states in the United States, with a lively atmosphere, literary events, music, celebrities, restaurants, fashion, and business. However, it is upsetting to note that most of its 19,306,183 residents are dependent on addictive substances, thanks to the widespread availability of drugs and other contraband substances. This has led to the rise of drug abuse statistics in New York, which is home to a number drug trafficking organizations.
New York is home to a diverse population that includes immigrants from a number of countries. It also acts as transit hub for drugs to be smuggled to Canada and Europe as well as to other East Coast destinations within the United States. Mexican, Colombian, and Dominican drug trafficking organizations are the primary distributors of drugs, particularly cocaine, in New York. They use interstate ways and national highways to supply drug consignments to the state.
