Is your friend or family member struggling with drug or alcohol addiction?

Do you really believe that the struggling addict or alcohol is in a position to choose a treatment center?  Their life is screwed up due to substance abuse so their choices and decisions are not going to be the best.  

If the person agrees to attend treatment, our advice is to have a treatment center picked out in advance.  The ideal situation is to call them in advance and make arrangements.  

Keep in mind that any addict or alcoholic who is facing the idea of inpatient treatment is going to be scared to go, whether they admit it or not.  This is especially true if the person has not attended treatment before. 

It is this fear that must be overcome if the person is going to take action.
