It is not easy to make a decision to seek help for a drug addiction program, but once you take that step and are willing to try something other than drug abuse, you are on your way to recovery. However, the reality is that some people do not have health insurance to pay for the expense of going to a private drug rehab program. Some families that try to help their loved ones are robbed of their savings from the same drug abuser. So it can be quite challenging to find a drug rehab facility that will offer free drug rehab treatment. Going to a drug rehab program can take thousands of dollars each month from your bank account or insurance. For those who cannot afford this, it can be very discouraging. This is why some people don't attempt to get help or they use it as an excuse not to seek help. With all that being said, there are still some drug rehab programs that are affordable. Some are operated by nonprofit organizations and subsidized the government. Some faith based rehab centers do get government help as well. These programs usually carry a waiting list, though, but it would be better to be on the waiting list than not at all. Recovery House option One of the options that are oftentimes ignored is a recovery house. Even though detox is not part of the treatment program and therapy is limited, the recovery house provides enough services for sobriety especially during the first few months. A recovery house comprises of recovering drug addicts who share living arrangements. There are certain rules and guidelines that the residents have to follow. Employment training is mandatory to be part of the program. If any relapse takes place during the program, the residents are kicked out of the program and cannot return. Most of these recovery houses require that the residents pay a nominal fee from money earned from gainful employment. The staff at the recovery houses helps the residents to get work. Most of these recovery houses are operated by charity organizations and residents only have to share the living expenses amongst themselves. About 8 residents share accommodations and expenses. Free drug rehab services are initially offered to those who don't have the money to get into the recovery houses. Each recovering drug addict that lives in the recovery house helps one another to stay away from drugs. They learn together how to get back to normal. They act as the support entity that is necessary to remain sober. They look out for each other and encourage each other. Usually residents stay in the recovery house for about one year. Some people may stay a bit longer. If you are a person looking to get off of the drugs and you have limited finances, the first option is to try a recovery house. Never give up or feel that there is no help out there for you. There is always a program that can help even without money. You can find a faith based drug program that is free. You will have to commit a specific period of time to these programs from 6 months to as much as 2 years. In these programs, the recovering drug addict will have to go through a program that helps them spiritually, physically and mentally. |
