Alcohol Treatment Center Pulled Her Back from A Destructive Path

My name is Claire; I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest thanks to your alcohol treatment center. As a mother, I have always felt it was my life’s duty to protect my children, Meg is my youngest and only daughter, and I also have three sons. All of us have been overly protective of the “baby,” of our family, so we were shocked and frightened when we realized she had developed a problem with binge drinking while away at college.

Meg left home to attend college last year and she fell into a crowd of people who enjoyed partying and drinking. She had not had a lot of experience with drinking before, as we are not big drinkers in our home. Meg had never been one to indulge much more than an occasional glass of champagne or wine with dinner, so when she told us she had a drinking problem we were very surprised.

Meg came to me after her freshman year; she was deeply depressed and afraid to tell me what was bothering her. At first I thought she was joking or maybe she “thought” she had a problem, I couldn’t face the reality that my 19 year old daughter needed to seek an alcohol treatment center for help with her binge drinking problem.

Meg took control over the situation and decided she needed to seek treatment; she was the first one to admit that her alcohol use was affecting her life in negative ways. She told me she had skipped classes, missed work and lied to us and her friends about her alcohol use. Meg also told me that what made her seek treatment was the fact she experiencing memory loss and blackouts, she was waking up not knowing what she did when she drank, which gave her cause for concern. She needed an alcohol treatment center or she was afraid her drinking would become worse and even more out of control.

Without the help of Transformations Treatment Center, my daughter would have gone down a destructive and dangerous path. By enrolling in your alcohol treatment program, Meg was able to realize how the desperate her situation was and through the touch of the divine hand of God, she was able to beat her alcohol addiction. She was treated with compassion and respect and shown kindness at a time when she needed it the most in her life.

As a mother, I never wanted to see anything like this happen to any child, I would rather die than to see any of my children in an ounce of pain. I realized that my children are going to go out into the world and live their own lives and follow their own path, through family counseling all of us were able to truly realize just how precious and vulnerable life is. We are thankful to God that Meg was able to enroll in Transformations Treatment Center and turn her life around. Thank you for giving us back our girl, we are a happy, whole family once again thanks to you!
