Saved From Alcohol Poisoning By Alcohol Treatment Center

This letter is being written so that I can say thank you to all the wonderful and caring staff at your alcohol treatment center. My name is Sean and I was an alcoholic for many years before seeking treatment, your facility helped me turn my life around and for the first time in my life, I came to know God.

My spiral into alcoholism finds its roots to back when I was 18 years old and continued for more than 20 years, before I realized how badly I needed to seek treatment. What began as a simple weekend recreational activity with my friends turned into full-blown alcohol addiction within 2 years. I started drinking with my friends to be “cool,” and to fit in better with my peers. Every weekend we would get a few cases of beer and head out to the lake and kick back.

Once I got out of high school, I left the state to go to college and there I had even more access to alcohol. I kept drinking and soon it was not just limited to the weekend, I began drinking during the week, at first it was a day here and there, but quickly it escalated. Pretty soon beer was not enough and I turned to harder forms of alcohol such as whiskey, rum, gin and vodka, I basically drank whatever I could get my hands on. First thing in the morning I was getting up and spiking my coffee with rum or whiskey and I took to carrying a flask with me so I could sip on alcohol throughout the day as well.

The alcoholism took over my entire life and as time passed, it became all consuming. I lost my family, job, home and everything else I hold dear in life. I lied to people and hid my drinking because I was so ashamed and scared of being judged. When I was at my worst, I would drink for a day or more and not remember what I was doing, drinking became my go-to activity and I wanted to do nothing else. I hit rock bottom and developed alcohol poisoning after a particularly long binge, I wound up in the hospital and almost died. It was then that I knew I truly needed the help of an alcohol treatment center.

Once I decided to seek treatment, I searched through the various traditional programs and time and again, I found myself coming back to Transformations Treatment Center. What I found with your alcohol treatment center was complete and total compassion and understanding. From the time I entered your facility; I was treated with respect and supported during each and every step.

Your counselors, therapists and rehabilitation specialists encouraged me, giving me the guidance and tools I needed to rebuild my relationship with God. Slowly, I was allowed to heal and recover at my own pace. Reading the bible, praying and attending church were so important to me; I felt the power of God working in my life for the first time in a long, long time. I knew choosing a faith-based alcohol treatment center was the best choice I could make. Your program saved my life and has shown me that no matter what happens, I can handle the issues and stresses of daily life without drinking. Thank you to each and every one of you, for everything you have done for me and the countless others you have helped as well.
