Prichard AL Substance Abuse Statistics

Prichard is a small city in Mobile County on the borders of its northern part, along with bordering suburbs, such as Chickasaw, Saraland, and the not integrated portions of Eight Mile, Alabama. Prichard is considered a developed city today, which is also known for the upcoming Alabama Motosports Park, another theme park, and the Dale Earnhardt Jr. Speedway, among other things.

What began as a small settlement in the 1830s was converted into a city during World War II, when people working in the neighboring shipbuilding companies started building residences in this town. The current population of Prichard AL is 27,963 (according to the 2005 census), which can be easily divided into Africans, White, Native Americans, Hispanics or Latino Asian, Pacific Islanders as well as those belonging to certain other races.

Given the fact that drug crimes are constantly on the rise in Alabama, it is not surprising that drug abuse in Prichard AL is also pretty high. The total number of cases handled by such teams across the country amounted to nearly 19,643 arrests. However, in Prichard as well as other parts of Alabama, nearly 286 people were arrested by 19 drug task forces. These teams seized huge quantities of cocaine, methamphetamine, and marijuana, among others.

Given the extent of drug addiction in Prichard AL, it is obvious that various measures will be undertaken to overcome it and treat those who are addicted to various substances.
